Being immersed at Rising Tide Capital, helped me to clarify what I wanted out of a job. As a Communications VISTA, I had opportunities to plan events, participate in numerous community meetings, and also share in-depth interviews with many of the entrepreneurs that went through the Community Business Academy. I learned that I enjoyed the exciting pace of being in a growing organization, contributing to strategy and program planning, and being part of an organization that didn’t just “help”—but also truly engaged with local communities in long-term, sustainable change.
