Alicia DeLia Advancement Strategist
Alicia DeLia is a nationally recognized leader in philanthropy who has dedicated her career to understanding how philanthropy and social enterprises can promote effective change. Since beginning her nonprofit career in 2001, Alicia has worked with dozens of organizations nationally and internationally, raising over $9 million from the donor community.
Alicia is strongly motivated by inclusive philanthropy, nonprofit leadership and the belief that philanthropic organizations need to engage beneficiaries in highly dignified and collaborative ways in order to have sustainable impact in their communities. This ethos is grounded in her early childhood growing up between Washington DC, El Salvador and Cameroon and her more recent work in international development.
Alicia joins Rising Tide Capital as an Advancement Strategist after 15 years as a nonprofit fundraiser and 5 years within international development supporting small businesses, microenterprises, agricultural cooperatives and social enterprises in Latin America and Africa. She has worked with the United Nations, USAID, The Government of the Dominican Republic, Columbia University’s Earth Institute, Shared Interest and FINCA International amongst others.
Alicia holds a Masters Degree in Latin American Economic Development from New York University and a Bachelors Degree in Political Science from Baruch College. As a Jersey City resident and community advocate for over 10 years, Alicia is thrilled to join the Rising Tide team and begin the next phase of her work supporting entrepreneurs and underserved communities closer to home. In her spare time, Alicia enjoys the outdoors and camps regularly with her husband and two children.
